Andrographis
paniculata is an annula herbaceous plant in the family Acanthaceae. This herbs native
to the indian and sri lanka and it it
widely cultivated in the southern and southestern Asia. Andrographis
paniculata is extremely bitter in taste in all parts of the plant body because of
that in Malaysia it is known as hempedu bumi,which literally means “bile of
earth”.meanwhile in in north-eastern India this plant is called as Maha-tikta,
literally "king of bitters".
