what is cekur?

Cekur is stemless because it arise from tuberous root stocks with cylindrical roots. This herbs has smooth, broad and dark green leave.it also bear a white flower with purple spot on it.the unique charactheristc about cekur is the leaf and rhozome@roots have a distinctive aromatic smell. The other name for cekur is Chinese ginger, finger root, Lesser Galangale (English), kencur (Indonesia), pro hom (Thailand).

what is the benefits of this herbs(cekur)?

Cekur has been used as a rub to “warm the body” during a woman’s confinement. It also has been  used to treat high blood pressure, swellings, ulcers, sprains and asthma and widely used in the Malay herbal formulas of jamu.

There is one Study investigated the antinociceptive activity in mice and rats using acetic acid-induced writhing, formalin, hot plate and tail-flick tests and the result show that the antinociceptive mechanisms appear to be both peripherally and centrally mediated actions .this prove that the opioid receptors are probably involved.Therefore supports the use in traditional medicine of Kaempferia galanga against pain caused by various causes.
